Why No One Buys Your Additional Services and What You Should Change To Sell Them
If you are a waste management company owner or run a junk removal service company, I’m sure you added several services to your main activities.
That’s because some clients asked you to cut their lawns or manage their gardens' landscape.
After having developed one project and seeing the economical result, you thought it was interesting to add the service to your main services.
You were so excited that you also inserted it on your website and brochures.
Unfortunately, your excitement didn’t match with the results.
After the initial interesting start, where the data seemed good, being falsified by the friends and neighbors who requested the service, it seems that no one needs your service.
That’s the typical case of a product/service that doesn’t match your target audience.
And let me say that it’s normal, fortunately.
Indeed, it means that your target audience is very well-profiled.
But it doesn’t mean you cannot sell another service connected with your main one.
It means that you should create something dedicated to another audience.
Another webpage, another brochure, another social media page, and everything should be different. You can use the same employees but with different garments and clothes that show a different brand.
In fact, the main problem you have is that your brand is directly connected with the main service you are offering.
Let me give you an example.
When you think about a drill, what brand do you think?
DeWalt, Milwaukee, Hilti, Bosch, Makita.
It’s the same (or better, it should be the same) when people think about your company and your main service.
How can they think about your service of landscape creation if you are recognized for waste collection or junk removal?
They can’t.
As you cannot think about a farm tractor produced by DeWalt.
Think about that to avoid this mistake that costs you your company reputation and, in many cases, some clients.
If you want to create additional services, follow these steps:
Give them a different brand than the main one;
Create a dedicated website page, phone number and email address;
Create dedicated social network pages;
If your team uses branded clothing, indicate them when they have to use the leading brand and when they have to use the second one;
Avoid showing your truck or van with the main brand; it can confuse your customers.
These are only a few things that will make a difference in your business results.
