What budget should I have for my marketing activities?

What budget should I have for my marketing activities?

December 12, 20232 min read

Small waste company owner or junk removal owner, if you are asking yourself this question in this post, I'll be sure to share with you how to identify the budget you should invest for your marketing activities.

This step-by-step guide will give you a complete overview of how to calculate your budget.

Let’s start with the question you should ask yourself:

Where do I want to collect the waste? In the city? In the State? In the County?

What type of waste am I collecting? Commercial? Municipal? Hazardous?

What are the primary sources of this type of waste? How many of them are in the area I want to cover?

How many competitors there are in the area?

How many of them are using online and/or offline ads?

What is the average customer value for your company?

What is the average customer lifetime value (how many months it remains with you and what it invests in your service)?

Starting from these questions, you can identify how much you can invest to generate a customer.

But how many leads do you need to have a single customer?

It depends on the potential customers' concentration in the area you want to cover and their presence on the different platforms you want to use.

Talking about municipal solid waste, it’s easy to identify the size starting from a competitor analysis showing how many people are unhappy with the service they are paying for.

Talking about commercial waste is easier, too. Indeed, you can start analyzing the number of commercial activities in the area you want to cover; you can also research the offers your competitors are doing and withdrawing from and craft an offer that leverages their lacks.

Talking about hazardous waste, the number of competitors is not significant, and even if the number of facilities that produce hazardous waste is growing, you can quickly identify them by researching the local providers of materials that are at the base of the production of hazardous waste.

I’m sure that you’ll find helpful this information.

All the best
